I was looking for open source solutions, and at least a year ago I couldn’t find anything that would suite our need, so we started Nebula project. Also, my intuition is that for a more or less complex case like this, there will always be a need for the “last layer” that translates “infrastructure” language (pods, nodes, images), to the language that people actually speak in the company (product at version x.y. ect), so it make sense to implement custom version of it, as long as it remains thin.
